Capital Vacations’ Disrespect for Veterans

We can describe in one word how Capital Vacations sales agents treat their customers:

DISRESPECT.

Disrespect: when presentations drag on for hours and disregard customer refusals.

Disrespect: when they fail to explain all the details associated with buying a timeshare.

Disrespect: when customers’ financial circumstances are ignored, and they are locked into deals they can’t personally afford.

And when it comes to veterans like Daniel, Capital Vacations certainly disrespects their service to our country.

The complaint Daniel filed against Capital Vacations with the Better Business Bureau in April shows the depth of that disrespect.

“As elderly individuals and a retired military family, we expected honesty and transparency in our dealings with this company, which absolutely was not our experience.”

“After the last update, a grueling four-hour meeting, we were persuaded to sign a contract for $64,829, granting us one million club points.”

Clear disrespect for Daniel’s time.

“Shockingly, this cost did not include the annual dues of $6,240.”

“It was only after these transactions that we realized the true extent of the financial burden we had unknowingly take on.”

Clear disrespect for Daniel’s financial situation.

“Had any Capital employees gone over the truth in lending documents, the actual cost of ownership or our total interest over the course, we would have been able to make an informed decision.”

Clear disrespect for Daniel’s legal rights.

“Instead, Capital falsely informed us that we could refinance this mortgage with a traditional bank. We have since learned that this is impossible, which has created even more issues.”

Clear disrespect for the truth.

“As a retired military family, we have always held a deep sense of patriotism and trust in companies that value the well-being of veterans.”

“It is disheartening to find we are in this predicament due to the lack of honesty and accurate information provided by their staff.”

Capital Vacations clearly showed disrespect for Daniel’s service.

Shame on Capital Vacations!

Shame indeed, Daniel.

It’s pretty clear who needs to start showing some respect to veterans like Daniel. That would be Travis Barythe co-president of Capital Vacations.Let’s email him at tbary@capitalvacations.com and tell him.

Maybe Jason Gamel will join us. He’s the President and CEO of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), which represents timeshare companies in Washington, DC. Let’s email him at jgamel@arda.organd ask him what he’s doing about Capital Vacations’ lack of respect for veterans.

And let’s show some respect to Kenneth McKelvey the chairman of ARDA’s Resort Owners Coalition, which claims to represent timeshare owners like Daniel. He’s also an executive consultant to Capital Vacations. Let’s email him at consumer@arda-roc.org to ask if he thinks veterans deserve the disrespect Capital Vacations keeps sending their way.
