“Overpromised and didn’t deliver.”
“You can stay anywhere you want”…when you can’t.
“Dates are always available”…when they aren’t.
“Your timeshare will make you money”…when it won’t.
We hear these type of complaints from SO MANY customers of Bluegreen Vacations. They are told so many things by Bluegreen sales reps that just don’t turn out to be true.
But goodness, we had to sit up and take notice when we read Quade’s complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau – because in Quade’s case it is what Bluegreen’s sales agents DIDN’T TELL THEM that caused the most damage.
“Bluegreen Vacations engaged in dirty sales tricks to earn our business.”
“We feel that it is our duty to inform you of these illicit activities and practices by Bluegreen salesmen.”
Okay, that part DOES sound like many of the other complaints against Bluegreen.
But then Quade makes a list all the things Bluegreen sales agents never said a word about.
“While purchasing, Bluegreen employees failed to disclose the following: That there was an administrative fee that is non-refundable prior to committing to the purchase.”
“That there was a 7-day window to rescind the contract; we were told all sales were final and we were rushed through signing of the contract.”
“We were not made aware of the increase in cost of annual maintenance fees.”
Wow.
It sure seems like Bluegreen left out some key details…and that was just during the sales presentation.
Everything Bluegreen did after that only reinforced Quade’s conclusion that Bluegreen had a lot to hide.
“We’ve since learned the rates go up at minimum approximately 5% annually.”
“Because of the deception from your sales team, the fictitious well-groomed resorts, the exorbitant finance charges, and interest rates that were not disclosed, running a credit check behind our backs and the overall negative experience – WE WANT OUT.”
Sounds like a fair request.
After all, what you don’t know – or weren’t told – can really hurt you.
We wonder what Bluegreen president and CEO Alan Levan has to say about all the things Bluegreen sales agents don’t say during their presentations. Let’s ask him by emailing him at alan.levan@bluegreenvacations.com.
