Bluegreen’s “Incredibly Gross” Cockroaches

Say what you will about the problems with timeshares…and we’ve said a lot!!

At the end of the day, no matter how miserable your stay, you can always look forward to returning to the comfort of your own home.

Unless, of course, you own a Bluegreen Vacations timeshare, that is.

Because, as a couple from Arkansas explained in their email to the Florida Attorney General, with Bluegreen you run the risk of coming home with something other than fond memories and a tan.

We wish we could say their experience started well, at least, but…

“Our timeshare ownership with Bluegreen Vacations has been a colossal waste of time and money. We have spent hours combing through the website trying to find a resort that works for us, only to come up empty-handed 9/10 times.”

But this is a cautionary tale along the lines of… be careful what you wish for.

“The one time that we were able to book a resort in advance turned into a horrific nightmare due to the cockroach infestation.”

COCKROACHES!

EEEW!

“We had switched rooms 3 or 4 times in one night because the cockroaches were everywhere.”

“One of our concerns was that they were going to crawl inside our bags and we would end up bringing them home and that is exactly what happened.”

Nobody wants that kind of souvenir.

We had to spend money to spray our home simply because we stayed at this disgusting Bluegreen resort.”

“All of the ‘amenities’ in the world can’t make up for an unclean environment and the physical and emotional stress of not being able to sleep for fear of bugs crawling on you.”

No kidding!!!

Having to deal with something so incredibly gross and harmful with no help is a total outrage.”

There is no excuse for this company to continue to lie and defraud its customers.”

No excuse at all.

But it will keep happening unless customers start getting under the skin of people like Bluegreen president and CEO Alan Levan. Let’s pester him about Bluegreen’s disgusting conditions by emailing him at alan.levan@bluegreenvacations.com.

We should also put a bug in Jason Gamel’s ear about Bluegreen’s infestation manifestation. Jason’s the President and CEO of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), which represents the timeshare industry in Washington. His email is jgamel@arda.org.
