Bluegreen: The Least Magical Place on Earth

Ah…Disney World!!  Ask just about anyone of any age and they will tell you.

Disney is indeed “the most magical place on earth!”

Bluegreen Vacations knows it too.

But it wasn’t until we read Nolberto’s complaint to the Better Business Bureau about Bluegreen that we learned how much Bluegreen has been trying to steal some of that Disney magic with fairy tale promises to its customers.

“I am writing my review in hopes of warning others to stay away from Bluegreen resorts.”

Uh oh. It already sounds like there’s no “happily-ever-after” here.

“We initially contacted Bluegreen through a package we ‘won’ at Bass Pro Shops. We were required to attend a presentation with Bluegreen to get our discounted value package.”

“During the sales presentation with Bluegreenthey blatantly lied to us by stating that they were associated with Disney Resorts, I believe because my wife and two children were with me at the presentation.”

Bluegreen even took advantage of the kids!

How enchanting.

We were assured that as Bluegreen Vacations members we would have unlimited access to Disney Resorts.”

We can understand why such a promise would be spellbinding.

“This turned out to be a lie because they have no relationship with Disney Resorts.”

And just like that, the spell was broken.

“When I told them I want to cancel my contract, they said there was nothing they could do about it.”

In other words, in the magical world of Bluegreen, you are cursed forever.

“Now I realize that they don’t care about their customers. They will lie and deceive you with false information to get money from you.”

That’s pretty evil.

But it does lead us to ask: “Mirror, mirror on the wall, is Bluegreen the unfairest of them all?”

We bet Bluegreen president and CEO Alan Levan knows the answer. Let’s email him at alan.levan@bluegreenvacations.com and find out.

We also have a question for Jason Gamel, the President and CEO of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), which represents the timeshare industry in Washington, DC. Is Bluegreen the least magical place on earth — or should that prize go to another member of his organization? Jason’s email is jgamel@arda.org.
