Bluegreen’s “Numerous Roadblocks” to a Dream

The two most optimistic words in the English language just might be, “I wish…”

We all use these words when we take our first steps on the road to achieving a dream.

So, when we found the email of a timeshare owner whose dream had to be deferred among the thousands of pages complaints against Bluegreen Vacations on file in the Florida Attorney General’s office, we were particularly touched.

They wished they could give their parents a vacation.

But rather than ease their journey, Bluegreen sent them on a detour – several, actually.

“I want to file a formal complaint against Bluegreen Vacations. I am deeply concerned about the unethical business practices I have experienced, which have had a severe negative impact on my financial well-being.”

“In August 2021 I purchased my first timeshare package from Bluegreen. During the initial presentation, I was promised a ‘free’ vacation and coerced into attending an ‘owners orientation class,’ where I was subsequently pressured into purchasing additional points in November 2021.”

That’s right. One stay led to another, but it didn’t get them any closer to their dream.

“I was told the points I initially bought would not cover the vacation I had in mind for my parents, and the only solution presented to me was to purchase more points.”

Well, maybe after this they were on their way?

I was informed that I could enjoy dream vacations with my points, yet I have been met with numerous roadblocks, such as insufficient pointsexpired points, and limitations on usage during specific seasons or times.”

Or…maybe not.

I have spent thousands of dollars and received virtually nothing in return.”

“The manipulative tactics used by their sales representatives are endless and have created an environment of deceit and misinformation.”

Sadly, now they are out of wishes.

The burden of this timeshare has become unbearable, and I would never wish this situation on anyone else in light of the above concerns.”

No fairytale ending here.

We wish Bluegreen president and CEO Alan Levan would get Bluegreen back on the straight and narrow. Let’s email him at alan.levan@bluegreenvacations.com and ask him to clear the obstacles to making the dreams of Bluegreen’s owners come true.

And we wish Jason Gamel would help. He’s the President and CEO of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), which represents the timeshare industry in Washington. His email is jgamel@arda.org. Let’s ask him to lend a little roadside assistance to getting Bluegreen back on track.

We wish you the best of luck in achieving your own dreams with your timeshare. Use this list of timeshare VIPspublished by ARDA to contact your company’s leaders and see if they can do more.
