Another vivid Wyndham horror story sent to us

And, again, it is heartbreaking.

I was lured into purchasing a Time share through high pressure, false promises, a salesman that wouldn’t leave my side, and then worst of all lied to on many counts.  They still owe me $8,000.00 for a cruise certificate that they want to say was a cruise package. The extra part of the package had nothing to do with the cruise, it was a certificate for a week in Cancun in one of their hotels. It was supposed to be completely paid for. However, they charged me over $1,300.00 extra, that I didn’t find  out about until I was in Cancun. They also forced upon me, their Wyndham credit card. I never authorized this. They did it so that they could put the price of the TimeShare on it. That is fraud!!!!”

“I am not a stupid woman. I told them that I was not going to purchase a Time Share with Wyndham. I couldn’t afford it as I was planning a Greek Cruise for my mother’s 80 Birthday June/July 2020. The manager was eavesdropping and came over and promised me that he would give me enough points so that four of us could go on a Greek Cruise on Nautica, as I had indicated that that was the ship I was planning to go on. He said that we would have to use their partner RCI Travel to book the cruise, and not to worry as he’d already approved all the points we would need for two terrace cabins. So, I went ahead and made the purchase as I thought I’d get the cruise for mom’s special birthday for a lesser price than I’d planned to spend, and would get the travel benefits of the Time Share.”

“When I went to make the travel arrangements for the cruise, I was told by RCI that I did not have enough points for two terrace rooms on the Nautica Greek Cruise. I made multiple inquiries with Wyndham. My sales rep said that I was mistaken about the points promised me and would not give me the name of the manager that had made the commitment to me. I went up the chain of command, meanwhile making monthly payments for the Time Share, to no avail. Bottom line is that I got nowhere. RCI told me that they could book me on another cruise line for a similar trip, but a much bigger boat that allowed children. That was not what I wanted!!! I paid $8,000 for this ship cruise.  Then COVID hit, the trip was cancelled. However, while the airlines refunded my money right away, RCI didn’t refund me a dime. They said I had a package so I’d have to take vouchers and go with them when I purchased a new trip. I told them that I had not purchased a package, but only a cruise and wanted my funds back. I kept getting the run around, people who barely spoke English and no one that would tell me what the vouchers were “worth.” I supposedly spoke with a number of managers, who also told me that they couldn’t tell me what they were worth. I was speechless. Now, they tell me that I had to claim my vouchers by a specific date that I was never notified of.  How can it be legal to do business this way???? “

“I got out of my Time Share, but it cost me a lot of money. I feel that they are treating me this poorly because I had to be very tough and frankly, threatening to finally get out.I want my $8,000.00 and I never want to do business with Wyndham or RCI!!! Oh, and get this, I had a small balance on my Wyndham Credit Card and made the payment online, spoke to a rep to make sure that it had gone through as the system had been down the day before, he said it had and that he would reverse my $29 late fee as it was their fault that the system was down. Well, the payment didn’t go through that would have paid off my balance and he didn’t reverse the $29. And they reported me as late by $29 to the credit bureaus. I contacted all three and disputed the late payment. (BTW, I have a 100% payment history.) They refused to remove the adverse action on my credit and further sent two different payment spreadsheets of my all my payments. So many were dated wrong and the different ones, showed me late on different months – one November and the other December.?”
