Why is your timeshare “not available”?

We have a lot of timeshare owners write us.

They get especially frustrated when they have paid for a timeshare…

… and often times PAID IN FULL…

…but they have never been able to use it.  Told it’s “…not available.”

Well, according to court documents … it happens fairly often……..particularly so at Wyndham.

Now we know it’s part of a plan to take “…desirable inventory away from owners and gives it to other “channels” that are profitable for T + L and drive in new owners to Club Wyndham.”

In this particular document … a former employee of Wyndham … Diana Henderson says Wyndham “…intentionally overbooks/oversells Resort accommodations, which results in a reduction of what accommodations are available for owners. Owners who have reservations for a specific unit type may not receive what they booked because it will not be available due to overbooking of the property.”

And … maybe the most important part is her saying Wyndham’s CEO knows exactly what is going on.”

Diana goes on to say: “…CEO Mike Brown is aware of seven Customer Pain Points, one of which is specific to inventory availability. Mike Brown created this initiative and is responsible for its content. This is important because it demonstrates T + L senior leadership is well aware of the availability issue and continues to force owners to remain in their contracts even while knowing that its business practices are the direct causes of the problems being experienced by owners.”

Had a problem with Wyndham and availability?

Travel + Leisure and Wyndham share the same CEO…maybe Mike can help.

You can email Mike Brown here.

Mike’s also the Chairman of ARDA, the timeshare trade group.  So, if you have problems with availability with other timeshare companies, maybe he can talk to his friends there, too.

The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) represents timeshare companies in Washington, DC.

Jason Gamel is the President and CEO of ARDA.  He may have some good advice about what the timeshare industry suggests for owners who have fallen on hard times.

Let’s email him at jgamel@arda.org.

Or… here is a list ARDA published of its VIPs across all its member companies. Maybe you can find your timeshare company executive and ask their advice too!
