High Pressure Timeshare Sales – The Stories

It is by far the number one horror story we hear back about timeshare companies:

Manipulative, high-pressure, inescapable sales tactics.

Our readers have A LOT to say about this…

“This horrible experience all started when we were at Cocoa Beach Pier. As soon as we got out of the car a man began insisting that we go to a 90 minute presentation about purchasing a timeshare. We were bribed with a $100 gift card as well as a free parking pass for the pier. This presentation lasted nowhere near 90 minutes. It was hours of constant pressuring while we tried to continue saying NO…What still haunts us to this day is when we were told that we will not regret this. However, this decision has become one of our biggest regrets.” – YR

“My wife and I purchased a timeshare at Diamond Resorts in Williamsburg, Va. This resort is a total rip off. They kept us in a meeting for 6 hours and just wouldn’t let us go until we signed as a buyer. They pressured the hell out of us. Everything they told us was a lie. They went as far as to forge our signatures on papers that we had never even had seen before. Stay away from using the electronic signature pad. This mess has costed us about $20,000. We could never book a stay there.”  – WB

“I also got lured into this Westgate resort with promise of getting tickets to the Disney World and they also said it would take an hour and a half. But four hours after the first hour and a half we were trapped into buying it seem like we would not leave unless we did something. It was like being integrated by the police. I am trying to get out from under this.” – JM

“…a 90 minute presentation took over 5 hours until they wore us out and sold us an every other year in Orlando. I am now retired and do not travel anymore… I have asked them to take the units back, which have been paid off, and they will not. They are a bunch of crooks and liars – CL

“Once we get to our hotel in Orlando Florida, They started to pressure us to come to a presentation into Westgate otherwise they would charge us extra for the hotel. As we arrived to Westgate location, My family and I were isolated into an island, hungry and pressured to sign timeshare paper work.” -AF

“…I told them over and over that I did not want to purchase but that’s when the pressuring really began. A 45 minute presentation became a 4 hour sales pitch. In the end I was sold a “every other year” timeshare that I paid off within 2 months of purchasing. I have NEVER used my timeshare in the 16 years that I’ve owned it…”- TV

Not one of these stories said anything about having a good time on vacation.
