Westgate’s Malicious Lies

How can you tell when a timeshare sales rep is lying?

Their lips are moving!

Think that joke’s too harsh?

Not according to Terri and Linda from Welches, Oregon. And they have proof!

We found their story – and their proof – in the 4,256 pages of complaints against Westgate Resorts on file in the Florida Attorney General’s office.

It was all in a short email that got straight to the point in the first sentence.

“Linda and I purchased a timeshare from Westgate because we were lied to by their sales representatives.”

Very direct! But where’s the proof?

“They lied when they told us that the timeshare would be easy to rent or sell.”

“The sales reps lied when they told us that the timeshare was an investment.”

“They said the value would increase over time.”

We have found all of these statements to be malicious lies.”

Well, sure, lots of Westgate owners feel like they have been lied to…but, again, where’s the proof?

“We have tried to cancel on multiple occasions and have been rejected each time. This contradicts the assertion that the timeshare is an investment.”

Okay…we’re listening.

“They already have our money from the mortgage we paid off. We simply want to give it back and they are refusing.”

“If it has truly increased in value since we bought it, Westgate would have no problem taking it back from us.”

Bingo! There it is!

If a Westgate timeshare was truly a good investment, Westgate should be eager to take it back when an owner just wants to give it to them for free!

And yet…Westgate won’t.

That’s because Westgate knows their timeshares aren’t worth what Westgate promises they are!

Let’s ask Westgate CEO and president David Siegel why his sales agents continue to lie about that. You can email him at david_siegel@wgresorts.com

Maybe Jason Gamel can explain. He’s the President and CEO of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), which represents timeshare companies in Washington, DC. His email is jgamel@arda.org
